Farmers spend a very big part of their expenses on Fertilizers & Pesticides. #RajivDixit, #ZBNF, #AndhraPradesh, #OrganicFarming, The "organic fertilizer: formula is very easy: The quantities do not require to be adhered perfectly. Its not like making a cake. The whole point is to multiply a certain kind of bacteria that exist in Indian Cow Dung (ICD). Other dung can be used if ICD is not found but it will be less effective. 1 Fresh Indian Cow's dung & urine Old or dried cowdung will not work because the bacteria in it has already died. The dung has to be fresh & at least some part of it must include Indian Cow (cow with hump) dung. 2. Curds (homemade Yogurt from non-pasturasied milk) 3. Jaggery 4. Soil from under banyan tree (to include the microorganisms from the soil). These are the main ingredients. Then you can add water so that it can be mixed. Use well-water (not chlorinated tap water that municipality supplies). Chlorinated tap water will reduce the effect. Add any kitchen waste water (but ensure that it does not have salt, chlorine or soap water else it will kill the organisms that we are trying to multiply. Any soluble food waste can also be added... anything like liquid or powder. This solution must be kept in warmth but always in shade and avoid sunlight completely. You can keep the solution as long as you keep the microorganisms alive with the above 4 ingredients. Shifting from Chemical Fertilizers & Pesticides to natural or organic has proven beneficial not only in yields but also in profits. Even in the rare case if ever the yield has fallen that too has resulted in profit because the expenses of buying chemical fertilizers & pesticide has been avoided. One of the main thing to note while shifting to natural/organic is the seeds/plants used on the farm has to be heirloom or natural meaning coming down from thousands of generations. These have built in their DNA how to resist many type of disease. Hi-breed plants & animals have not only the benefits of both their parent plants but also the defects of both their parent plants thus best to avoid hi-breed seeds. Patented or Terminator seeds can also be called designer seeds and should be avoided at all cost. These seeds can only grow only if the the fertilizer AND pesticide of the Seed-Company is sprayed. The farmer also has to use local Heirloom seeds got free from another farmer and then returned after harvest. Farmer who buy seeds are not farmers but just contract laborer. All farmers who have committed suicide are chemical farmers. It underlines the dangers of chemical farming. 1 Acre land today requires Rs 1Lakh input in fertiliser+pesticide+company seeds. Most farming activity takes 3 months before they are harvested. So by using organic/natural practices farmer can save Rs 1 lakh every 3 months. Natural farming, permaculture or Zero Budget Natural Farming is almost the same thing. This farming is the only way to safe farming.
